Albion & East plans to open its third location at The Bower development at Old Street in central London. Currently operating two other food and beverage organisations in London – Canova Hall in Brixton and Martello Hall in Hackney.
The latest project from Albion & East, named Serata Hall, has a planned opening for early 2019. It will take a first-floor flagship space of 5,600 sq ft in the Tower building within The Bower development. A prime location, positioned next to the Old Street roundabout and underground station.
The concept consists of a dining area on the ground floor, a distillery and bar. Also, included is a private event spaces on the mezzanine level and its own bakery on site.
Located within The Tower, the new venture will benefit from features reminiscent of an Edwardian greenhouse with double height ceilings, impressive city views and exceptional natural light.
The new site will showcase the group’s popular, Italian-American influenced, all-day menus, alongside the on-site bakery, Tiny Tower, that will make artisan breads and cakes daily for all three sites. The gin distillery will host gin-blending masterclasses, with the mezzanine balcony hosting DJs at the weekend.
Sarah Weir, Managing Director at Albion & East, said: “The whole team are very excited to be opening in Old Street. The location is a natural fit for our business, and the space we have is truly special.”
Nikki Dibley, Development Executive for The Bower, said that Albion & East will “be a perfect fit” for the Old Street development and that the surrounding community will find it to be an enjoyable dining experience.
About Albion & East
The first site for Albion & East Martello Hall began operating in December 2016 and is located in a renovated East End pub. 6 Months on, Canova Hall opened its doors in May 2017 inside a former Grade II-listed work hall.
Canova Hall and Martello Hall both feature a relaxed atmosphere patterned after contemporary all-day dining locations in the US. Both sites are in historic buildings that Albion & East have restored.
These Albion & East locations offer Italian-American dishes and pizza as well as locally brewed craft beer, gin made on the premises, wine on tap and a custom cocktail list.
Christian Elmes, Partner at Enterprise Investment Partners and board member at Albion & East, said: “We are proud to be backing Albion & East and it continued success and growth. I am confident Sarah and her team will create a wonderful new venue for the Old Street development.”
Albion & East is the third innovative restaurant group represented in the Imbiba EIS Leisure Fund to announce the opening of a new location. temper Covent Garden recently opened after a soft launch in May, while Darwin & Wallace’s 601 Queen’s Rd also opened last month.
The new launches by these three restaurant groups reaffirm the growing confidence in the UK restaurant and bar market.
