In order to carry out regulated financial activities in the UK a firm must be authorised and regulated by the FCA. This process can take up to 12 months and requires a significant amount of time, expertise and documentation. This is not always practical and an alternative is to find a Principal firm that can provide Appointed Representative status as well as compliance oversight, allowing your business to carry out regulated activity within 3 to 4 weeks.
Enterprise understands the importance of high quality compliance processes and controls but knows the demands of a changing regulatory environment can be daunting. We work closely with our Appointed Representative clients to understand their business and help them put in place sustainable compliance procedures tailored to their organisation.
Enterprise can provide Appointed Representative status and regulatory incubation for a number of regulated activities that client firms carry on; private equity, promotion and fund raising, investment management and crowdfunding. – an existing AR looking to change
– a recently established business looking to start trading and conduct regulated business quickly
– looking for a short term solution and assistance in getting directly FCA authorised
Enterprise follows a number of stages in on-boarding AR’s. Once you are an AR you will be an Agent of Enterprise, as a directly authorised FCA firm, acting as Principal.
We will take the time to really understand your business. Understand what FCA permissions you require, depending on the current and future requirements of the business and its customers.
We will undertake the required legal and regulatory due diligence on the business and key individuals. This will include a review of the company business plan, financials, and financial promotions as well as background checks on the company and key individuals.
As an AR of Enterprise we will be entirely responsible for you. We will notify the FCA and provide you with the regulatory support in order for you to keep up to date and comply with FCA regulations. This will include the provision of regulatory procedures and supervision, regular and ad hoc reviews, and timely updates to ensure you remain compliant with FCA regulations.
