Halcyon Hotels and Resorts plc was established to take advantage of attractive buying opportunities in the UK hotel market. It raised £28m together with private equity JV partner, Patron Capital, in 2011 in order to acquire the existing Luxury Family hotels and develop them as luxury locations targeting primarily the family market.

The Company benefits from a highly experienced management team headed by Nigel Chapman, founder of Luxury Family Hotels and co-founder of Alias Hotels and Martinhal, a luxury resort on the Algarve coast of Portugal. Halcyon owns the Polurrian Bay Hotel in Cornwall and owns and operates with Patron Capital a further 7 hotels: Woolley Grange, Wiltshire; The Elms, Worcestershire; New Park Manor, Hampshire; Moonfleet Manor, Dorset; Thornbury Castle, South Gloucestershire; The Ickworth, SuffolK; Fowey Hall, Cornwall.
